We The Sage, We This Age

About Me

"We The Sage progressive (e)volution-in-tune.
In South Africa we say we have a music scene. We say we have talent and a new brand of alternative archetype rock that's finding its feet on a global audio wave. In truth and experience and in general, we seem to have a static replication of what’s being pumped out of the massly produced global theme song. It’s either so emo the instruments are ornamental, or so alternative it’s the last choice before giving up completely.
And then, from behind a plynth in an almost erotic way, comes WeTheSage, who holds the stage with the confidence of a conscious music exploration.
Calling it a fresh new sound only does justice to the fact that what this band is providing is new. New in the way a religion is new, only to those who have recently found salvation in its form, and in the form of this group of artists, salvation is the one thing you can count one. It’s not often that harmony in rock is so obvious, and even though they haven’t lost their commercial virginity yet, it seems the potential for mind fuckingly beautiful music is on its way, ejaculating into your brain as the first string is plucked.
I owe it to the minds behind the music, meeting them allows for a prevalent study of their creation and what they are fusing, with their techno lubed rhythms and in your face break timing that takes the experience from another cold night in a dodgy hole listening to whatever 4 guys could have created in a basement, to a pinnacle and a flagstone for the possible masterpieces to come. If you love music, like you love lap dances, this hooker of an infidel band will turn even the most darkened death metal goth zombie into a moving, functioning mosh pit regular.
Whatever you say about WeTheSage, they are this age in music, a body carrying more emotion and complex technical form into your ears with subtle perfection and hints at greatness. They might as well already be dead. Because only in that way could you truly pay tribute to the genius that is WETHESAGE.
Dont be shy, check them out."
