BIOGRAPHY
Definition: Inertia (pronounced "inersha") The tendency of a body in straight line motion to stay in motion in a straight line unless acted on by an outside force.
A new band in motion is exactly what iNeRsHa are. The band was formed in December 2004 and started playing shows at the beginning of 2005. The four-piece wasted no time in charging into the South African rock scene with highly melodic riffs, smooth and energetic vocals backed by a clever and catchy rhythm section.
With this combination the initial response was phenomenal and yet was only a hint of what would follow. The band is making a following wherever they play. This was evident at Woodstock 7 where the band played on the Blunt stage to an audience who were left thinking “Who were those guys???”
The band were rapidly becoming in demand. The beginning of 2006 saw "iNeRsHa" focusing on pre-production for their debut album 'The One Day Always Missed' and continued playing virtually every weekend in to packed venues.
The band signed with a reputable record label and soon after the album’s release, their first single ‘HOLD ME DOWN” was climbing charts on campus stations around the country.
To compliment this achievement they also gained a spot again at Woodstock 8 2006. This time headlining the Blunt Stage.
The media have been incredibly supportive of the band. From television (particularly MK89) to campus radio to the press.
Despite one band member change, iNeRsHa are one of SA’s most solid rock acts. The latter part of 2007 sees the band doing an extensive nationwide tour, and potentially a new EP.
