Erica's Anatomy are a Progressive/Metal band based in South Africa. Their Influences include bands such as Norma Jean, UnderOATH, Deftones, etc. Their Unique sound is a marriage of heavy melodic guitar riffs,the harmonic vocals of vocalists Ramon Pedregel and Yasin Munchie and the earth shattering scream of screamer dean pewsey (once of One Reason). The band began when Sibu Shongwe left previous band Serotonin to form a band with more of a distsinct musical taste and a heavey yet harmonic band with its own identity. Ramon(then singer/guitarist of Serotonin) left the band with Sibu and still unclear of where the musical direction of the band was going they set out to build a band. They then turned to Yasin Munchie (then Of Cold Fire) to fill the position of vocalist/guitarist along side Ramon. At first Yasin was hesitant to leave Cold Fire to form a band that at that present time was unsure of members as well as material. Ramon and Sibu then looked for the heavey element of Erica and immediatly turned to Sibu's long term Side band Insyde Out (metal) bandmate and friend Dean Pewsey... Pewsey immediatly gave the band a yes and left his current band. At this point after 2 practices with only Ramon and Sibu,Yasin left Cold Fire and began a fulltime commitment to Erica's Anatomy. The bands musical style was beginning to mould into something that surprised even Sibu and Ramon. The only thing missing now for the band... a bassist. At first the plan was to find a bassist to fill the position that would give the band a different edge. After a long period debating the band approached Bret Noble( Ex-Cold Fire) and Ori saches (Ex-Serotonin) but when the idea of the double bassist failed to produce/materialise the band decided on Bret to join as the final member.
