Paulus POTTERS composer, pianist, singer-songwriter and producer was born the 19th of August 1959 in Goirle in Brabant a province in the south of the Netherlands. About 7 years old Paulus started to play the recorder but he switched to piano first as an autodidact in his teens.He started taking piano lessons allowing him to experiment and improvise. He was able to expand his knowledge of musical composition. After graduation from grammar school, Paulus studied musicology at the University of Utrecht. Later he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tilburg.In 1986 Paulus graduated in piano and arranging at the Rotterdam Conservatory.His first LP "The Argonauts" was released in 1988.From 1991 and 1993 he wan SEVEN awards for his compositions in the categories pop and jazz at the "BILLBOARD SONG CONTEST" in Oklahoma U.S.A. The members of the jury were Julio Iglesias, Iron Maiden, Jose Feliciano and many other prominents.His first CD "Unified" for the famous Dutch jazz label Timeless was released in 1993.As a professional piano teacher and music educator for many years, Paulus also wrote and published several music methods like "Leren improviseren" (1990) and piano books like "Ars classica nova" (1996). In 2000 Paulus choir piece St. Augustinus suite was performed in Russia by the Dutch Chamber Choir "Bon Ton".In the same year Paulus has participated in a dutch historical movie called "Recht van wind". His choir piece "St. Augustinus" plays an important part in it.As a performing artist Paulus is mainly focussed on improvisation in the styles of jazz and fusion music. From 2003 Paulus is sharing his time between Holland and France.He is giving solo piano concerts at the Côte d'Azur.In December 2004 Paulus participated at the Juan-les-Pins Jazz Festival Contest "Festival des Révélations" and achieved with his jazz trio the 5th place.Paulus POTTERS is a performing artist but also a talented and creative composer. He writes on regular bases music for movies, T.V. programs, documentaries and commercials spots. It is a series about TOURISM AND GASTRONOMY. In total 580 MILLION PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD are now able to hear the music of Paulus on the back of those images.This documentary series will be also on long distance flights of "AIR FRANCE".
