20. Are You ready?TOO HOT TO TOUCH.Perth band Supernaut evolved from the pub band, Moby Dick, in 1974. The band consisted of English migrants Gary Twinn (vocals) brothers Chris and Joey Burnham (guitar and drums respectively) and Australian Phillip Foxman on bass. All good looking boys and living up to their glam rock image they shifted to Melbourne and came under the guidance of Ian “Molly “ Meldrum. Molly produced their first single “I like it both ways†which was banned in some quarters for the risqué connotations. The single reached the top twenty nationally thanks to the regular appearances on Countdown. The bands’ second single “Too hot to touch†also made the top twenty as did their debut album Supernaut. The band quickly faded and several singles and albums failed to have any major impact on the charts. They finished their career in Sydney in 1980 simply known as the Nauts. In Australia in the 70's there was an indiginous glam scene, where the artists were every bit as big in their native land as T.Rex and Slade were in the UK, though, with the exception of a few odd hits very few of these artists crossed over to the international market.
