The Clones (Australia) formed in early 1978 and quickly became popular around the burgeoning Sydney pub/club scene. Releasing one 7" single, Tired of Hiding/Happy I'm With Her, on RCA records in mid-1980 the band subsequently broke up in December of that year. The various members went on to form Sydney bands inlcuding The Persuaders, The Reasons Why and The Touched before reforming briefly in the early 1990s as The Groovediggers with all new original material.

The Clones (Australia) entire history can be found in great detail at their website: www.theclones.net.au.50megs.com . .
