(The character. A middle aged woman, a younger looking woman, wearing last nights make up and clothes, holding a glass of wine for breakfast whilst curled up on a comfortable sofa chair playing with her chipped red toe nail varnish)

(She addresses the audience)
Please excuse me for being so direct but
I have sensed something about you
I know

(She leans forward and whispers)

It is something that I have seen in many
Some thing that isn't
Yet something that is

(She places the half empty glass of wine on the coffee table. She raises her voice a little)

It could be your lifes ruin
In numerous ways
It could be your life, in others
(Throws her head back and laughs hysterically)

(Stands to address the audience once again)
(and speaks in an empowering caring an advisory tone)

You have the power to use it
and the power to abuse it
the choice is yours

(Dreamy and drammatic voice)

You could submerge yourself in its sheer passion and beauty
(As she dances with herself around the room)
(Then stops abrubtly)

or opt for the lame and the shallow of just the act
(Then sits back in her chair)

(speaks with a monotone voice)

or abstain completely

(With wide tear filled innocent eyes)

You can keep it if you are willing
or give it away
(She looks down and begins to pick at her toenails once again)

(She looks up and doesn't move a muscle)
(Speaks in a flat voice)

Its just a bodily function
an emotion?
(Lifts her shoulders and raises her hands in a qusetioning gesture)

a journey that transcends (looks back at her feet)

(looks up and speaks in an advisory type tone)
When you have it, you don't think about it
When you don't it is constantly on your mind
Taking over
(Stares into space)

(Looks directly at the audience)
(Speaks as if she is the only person who knows, the oracle)

So what is it?
Is it a life?
It is the creation of life
Is it the meaning of life itself?

I know,
He knows,
She knows
AND you know...

(Looks back at her feet and resumes picking her toenails lights fade)
