I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

If you live in NorCal, check out my show, video i which airs Mondays 11:00 pm on KTEH Saturdays 11:00 am on KQED Life Encore in Northern California. I cover independent film festivals, interview celebrities and filmmakers, and give you the scoop on the latest films! Check out my blogs for regular celeb interviews and film reviews.
My name is Blanche, pronounced the French way, so maybe I should spell it Blaunche. Close friends have also called me Blanca, Blancanieves, BB Queen, Blanchy Blanche,Barbeque, Mommalonglegs, and just plain B. I can't thank all of you Myspace friends enough for all of the encouragement and support you have given me! Sometimes it takes me a while to get back to everyone's sweet e-mails, but I do read them and try to respond to all of them! As you might be able to tell, I have a passion for communication--reaching out to as many people as possible has been exhilarating for me. I have been working in television for a third of my life now--moving from ABC to CNN to PBS to TECH-TV, primarily as on-camera hostess or reporter. The word contradiction seems to describe me best--an adventure-seeking homebody, a family loving yet independent woman, a foodie and part-time model, fiesty but polite,a private extrovert, a feminine tomboy. I thrive on spontaneity and change--if things stay the same for too long I need to switch things up so that I can keep learning. Enjoying life to the fullest to me means quality time with friends and family, keeping up with entertainment, eco-friendly living, fashion, politics, anything French, traveling, dancing, shoe collecting, fitness, and lots and lots of chocolate. Music, however, is the core of my being--I cannot function one day without it--I take my music appreciation very seriously!
As far my job in entertainment, I am always trying to perfect the art of the interview--it’s still a work in progress but I strive to be the best there is in media. I love forging new ground and testing the boundaries of my abilities. My independent film show, Video I (which airs on PBS in California) allows me to see the latest in cutting edge independent films, meet the filmmakers that sacrifice to make their dreams come true, cover film festivals where the indie film pulse is thriving, and interview celebrities that stay true to their indie roots.
