Rok Dolnicar was born on 11.08.1971 in Jesenice. He now resides most of the time in Portoroz, Slovenia. Mr. Dolnicar is a freelance photographer, whose main occupation is Nature Photography. Rok's love for nature was taught to him as a child by his parents as well as his grand- father and grandmother. His grandfather was an amateur photographer himself and shared his passion by showing his cameras to Rok. His grandmother encouraged him to discover the world of plants, for those she claimed could hear and feel. Rok Dolnicar graduated from the Institute for Professional Photography in New York. During his tenure at the Institute for Professional Photography he won two awards for superb photographic projects. One of his photographs was selected for the students' library archives. He is a General Member of the North American Nature Photography Association NANPA - www.nanpa.org , commited solely to promote the art and science of nature photography for nature appreciation and environmental protection. Rok himself found photographing nature a higher sense: helping public to become aware of the great importance of the habitat, which mankind tends to forget. His photographs contain a nuance of artistic inspiration. Reason for that, we can find in Rok's feeling and view for nature of which he expresses so intensely. Rok is very proud of his achievements and talents and will develop further with perseverance and joy.
