I've played in bands for ages, trying out different genres and roles, but have concentrated my energy on voice, guitar and the double-bass in recent years. Having lived in Taiwan for almost a decade before moving back to Germany in 2005, I was part of the popular guitar-duo "Jaebono" as well as being a singer and bass player for well-known Chicago-Style Blues Band BoPoMoFo in Taipei City.
After returning to my native Germany, I supported american singer-songwriter Marybeth D'Amico in promoting the launch of her debut EP "Waiting to Fly" in shows mostly in and around Munich, initially playing double-bass in her band and later backing her on acoustic guitar, double bass, mandolin and vocals in a duet formation. Check out her myspace page as she is about to launch her first long-player CD "Heaven, Hell, Sin & Redemption" which promises to be excellent!
I recently decided to concentrate more on my own music, some of which I have home-recorded and uploaded here for your listening pleasure. I hope to be able to record a set of songs soon to release a CD, meanwhile I'll be playing as much as they'll let me ... ;-)
Here are excerpts from a few reviews:
"The accompaniment of multi-instrumentalist Niels Cremer fit perfectly. Whether he is playing guitar, mandolin, upright bass or harmonica - the former blues musician shows himself to great advantage in all of the songs. The harmonies of the duo are also a strong point." (Landsberger Tagblatt, July 2007 on a duo performance with Marybeth D'Amico)
"The formal announcement was 'A Performance by Marybeth D'Amico, accompanied by Niels Cremer'. That however does not do justice to Niels Cremer's performance, who fulfilled more the role of coequal duet-partner during yesterday's house concert. The teamwork of Cremer and D'Amico ensured a memorable evening with relaxed guitar music." (House concert, Rotterdam, Dutch tour, 10/2007)
