Since moving to Music City from Boston in 1987, George has become a major musical contributor to Nashville’s creative community and his hits have defined career moments for many of Country Music’s biggest stars. Among recent highlights, George wrote the swampy anthem, “Real Good Manâ€, a multi-week number one recorded by superstar Tim McGraw. A few years later, his poignant smash, “When I Get Where I’m Goin’†recorded by Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton won the 2006 Country Music Association Award for Vocal Event of the Year, scored nominations from both the CMA and the Academy of Country Music for Song of the Year and has even become a best-selling novelty book.
George’s songs have helped launch today’s new stars, including Gretchen Wilson, who has recorded several of George’s songs including the number one smash, “Homewrecker.†Other songs breathed fun into the repertoire of established superstars like Trace Adkins who scored with Teren's most recent multi-week number one “Ladies Love Country Boys.†Filling out his catalog are hits and cuts by dozens of country stars including “(Lovin’ You) Made A Man of Me†(Gary Allan), “Busy Man†(Billy Ray Cyrus), “Runnin’ Out of Reasons to Run†( Rick Trevino) among others by such artists as Montgomery Gentry, Van Zant, Tracy Byrd, Blake Shelton, and Jo Dee Messina.
George’s songwriting has often transcended genre. His songs have been recorded by Tower of Power, Avalon, The Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears. George has also written, produced and sang music for radio and TV, including themes for the NBA, ABC College Football and CBS Winter Olympics. His ad clients have included Busch Beer, Valvoline, McDonald's, Pabst Beer, Dominos Pizza and Wal-Mart. Teren has been awarded a Clio, a Mobius and a number of Tellys and Emmys.
Currently, George has several new singles climbing the charts including “I’ve Got My Game On†performed by Trace Adkins and “Stealing Cinderella†the debut single for RCA Recording Artist, Chuck Wicks.
