About Me

Afterball news
Well the FoT Summer Ball has been and gone. Plenty of happy faces...and few grumpy losers!!
Sorry we couldn't have held it on a weekend night - that was the only night available at that venue. The Quays was a great venue we felt.
Big thanks to the Teds on Tour for doing the decor.
Big thanks to Sister Assumpta for all her input including collecting for Croi on the night....over 450 Euro raised. Add that to the 2,600 Euro from Ted Fest and thats not bad now.
Big thanks to all the acts: Sister Act, Sister Turner, The Lovely Bottoms, Fr Billy Dwyer, 'The Spinmaster', Dolly's Rogered and Kenny's Pardon.
Commiserations to the acts that didn't make it - Celia 'Songs of Love' Baker who got double-whammied by a delayed flight to Dublin and then her van broke down on the way. 2 other acts almost made it to the stage but alas didn't - The bellydancing nun and also the headstanding nun doing YMCA.
It was a close run thing with the voting. Several acts claim to have 'been robbed'. The eventual winners Sister Turner truly were well deserving. A difficult act to sum up, they took away the 'Friends of Ted All-priests-and-nuns-look-a-like-competition 2007' trophy, specially made by Richard Quinn Trophies. One nun sang Tina Turner while the other interpreted the lyrics through dance. A terrible beauty.
Big thanks to the judges on the night: Sister Dolly, Sister Newstalk, Father Robbo and Sister Polly.
Big thanks to Peter Phillips for keeping score, Big thanks to Altered Boy for bustin' moves.
Big Thanks to Sister Dolly Parton aka Mairead Taggart for hittin' the high notes.
Big thanks to Father Elvis aka Marc George for rockin' the joint. Aha.
Big thanks to Joe Rooney for making sure we all had fun on the night.
Thanks to anyone who was there for bearing with us through the technical difficulties. The venue doesn't normally run this sort of night and were caught a little on the hop.
Well I now know what happens when you try to have an all-priests-and-nuns-look-a-like-competition....and its not pretty!
But sure neither is childbirth.
Mink
