We take back from the enemy what he has stolen. Peoples' lives come back to the Lord; backsliders, those who never heard the Gospel, those who have, yet still live as gangsters, thieves, drug adicts, corporate cheaters, adulterers, transients, you name it, we claim them for God's harvest!**************************************************** *************For booking, please message us or call Mike @ 619-315-5439************************************************ ************** Chapter's music is great for seasoned Christians and music lovers of all kinds, so they are a great gift for anyone. But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels?” Matthew 26:51-53As we continue this week looking at the last days of Jesus’ life on earth, we’ve seen betrayal and forgiveness. Today, we see the immense power and love that Jesus displays once again. In our passage, we see that one of the disciples was so angered by the events that he wanted to start a war with those who came to take Jesus away. While Matthew doesn’t say his name here, we know that it’s Peter (recorded for us in John 18:10).Peter didn’t need to take his sword out. He didn’t realize one very important lesson. We cannot take God’s will into our own hands. You see, there’s nothing I can do, and there’s nothing He needs me to do that can add one inch to His stature or one ounce to God’s power. He has it all under control. Look at Jesus’ response to Peter. He said that the Father could provide Him with more than twelve legions of angels with one small prayer. He’s powerful enough! So trust in Him that He will provide you the direction you need when you need it. Don’t try to take His will into your own hands, even if things appear to be dark and depressing. He just wants us to love Him and enjoy Him. He wants us to love people and enjoy people. He’ll do everything else. One other thought: I think it’s interesting that the other Gospels say that when the ear fell off, Jesus reached down, picked that ear up, stuck it on the guy’s head, and he was healed instantly. Yeah, it’s just like Jesus -- always picking up the pieces for us, isn’t it? He’s just right there. Trust in His love and power in your life.------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------Make Your Decision for more information about accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior *** www.horizonsd.org*****************More Resources And check out these helpful resources: Know God? Here's a cool lesson below, and note that David shows up to the battle with only 400 men, fighting from dusk until EVENING of the NEXT day, and yet 400 young men of the enemy equal in number to Davids men, ESCAPED! This is why we should not fear what the Lord puts in our hearts to do.1 Samuel Ch 30:9-25***** David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Ravine, where some stayed behind, for TWO HUNDRED men were too exhausted to cross the ravine. But David and four hundred men continued the pursuit. They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David. They gave him water to drink and food to eat- 12 part of a cake of pressed figs and two cakes of raisins. He ate and was revived, for he had not eaten any food or drunk any water for three days and three nights.David asked him, "To whom do you belong, and where do you come from?" He said, "I am an Egyptian, the slave of an Amalekite. My master abandoned me when I became ill three days ago. We raided the Negev of the Kerethites and the territory belonging to Judah and the Negev of Caleb. And we burned Ziklag."David asked him, "Can you lead me down to this raiding party?" He answered, "Swear to me before God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master, and I will take you down to them."He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah. David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off on camels and fled. David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives. Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back. He took all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock, saying, "This is David's plunder."Then David came to the two hundred men who had been too exhausted to follow him and who were left behind at the Besor Ravine. They came out to meet David and the people with him. As David and his men approached, he greeted them. But all the evil men and troublemakers among David's followers said, "Because they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the plunder we recovered. However, each man may take his wife and children and go."David replied, "No, my brothers, you must not do that with what the LORD has given us. He has protected us and handed over to us the forces that came against us. Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies (amongst the stuff in King James Version) is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike." David made this a statute and ordinance for Israel from that day to this.
