About Me

"If you drive the convertible fast enough in the rain, you won't get wet!" I've gotten tougher about taking care of me, protecting my workout time, eating preferences, and my availability to others when it comes to meeting their needs. It's no longer a balancing act, it's a way of life. Being responsible is not an easy task and requires working hard to achieve set goals, i.e, physically fit, mentally healthy, emotionally grounded, spiritually secure, and financially responsible, surrounding myself with positive energy, cultivating and concentrating on loving family, loyal friends and a strong network of like-minded individuals who share a common commitment for advocacy and community service. That daily direction necessitates avoiding strife, anger, and confusion, resolving conflict with an open heart, and always thinking the best in every situation. The average person has 700 negative thoughts per day. Imagine replacing that with the power of positivity! "Consciously or unconsciously, every one of us does render some service or other. If we cultivate the habit of doing this service deliberately, our desire for service will steadily grow stronger, and will make, not only our own happiness, but that of the world at large." ~Mahatma Gandhi, 1869-1948, Indian Political and Spiritual Leader

My Interests

Brilliance: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate… . Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, to be gorgeous, talented, and fabulous. Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others won't feel insecure around you. We are born to make manifest the glory of God within us. And as we let our light shine, we consciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others. Nelson Mandela (1918 - ) Source: A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of “A Course in Miracles” Marianne Williamson"I'm very determined and stubborn. There's a desire in me that makes me want to do more and more, and to do it right. Each one of us has a fire in our heart for something. It's our goal in life to find it and to keep it lit." And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.""Laugh at yourself, but don't ever aim your doubt at yourself. Be bold. When you embark for strange places, don't leave any of yourself safely on shore. Have the nerve to go into unexplored territory." ~Alan Alda, Actor and Director

Friendster

“A hero is someone who has goals and dreams, who wants to make a difference and leave the world a better place. A hero is someone who loves and is loved—and each one of us is a hero.”—Maria NemethThe virtue of love is not finding the perfect but loving the imperfect perfectly."Happiness is to be found along the way, not at the end of the road, for then the journey is over and it is too late. Today, this hour, this minute is the day, the hour, the minute for each of us to sense the fact that life is good, with all of its trials and troubles, and perhaps more interesting because of them." ~Robert R.
