About Me

xenon codex are based in High Wycombe, England, and also occasionally Eastbourne, and even Pembrokeshire, South Wales. In case you're wondering, we aren't a straight edge band ('x's at either end of a band's name usually indicate this - a fact that we're very aware of, and actually find fairly funny). The name is lifted from the 1988 Hawkwind album 'The Xenon Codex' a name and a band that we like, and it kind of represents the music make. We like to play uplifting, soulful, heavy space rock, with elements of dub, post-rock and psychedelic ambient music thrown in to create a lively (some say scary!) sound. We like nothing more than to just turn up to a gig, crank the amps to 11 and get the audience off. We are: Greg Singh (also of atomic lemon project), Duncan Harrison and Sam Luck (Psyche Out Musicland Bigband and Ovid B. Trotsman) and Justin Beamish (In Audio Out). The 2 live tracks on this profile are taken directly from our show at the Carling Academy, Islington on 17th May 2007, which was an entirely improvised instrumental performance. The 2 latest tracks are taken from rehearsal sessions for our forthcoming debut studio album, 'xenon codex and the lords of time' to be recorded in late 2007 with our good friends at the Jamshop. We also plan to release a DVD of our first ever show at the White Horse, High Wycombe Christmas 2006 early next year (courtesy of Alternator Promotions and all the crew at Media Resources, BCUC). See ya out there...Profile modified by: The CricketSoda Myspace Profile Editor
