About Me

ALP first materialised as an electronic improv unit in early-2000. It was just a laugh until we discovered that we could actually power a vessel large enough to carry two humanoids via the power of sonics, to traverse time and space. The next few years were spent advancing this science to the point where we were able to navigate the universe from any one point to any other point, in space or time, without causing irreparable damage to our bodies and temporal lobes. We navigated using a map of space and time that we had found years previously in Frank's back garden, which had appeared to us in the form of a giant eye. However, once we had landed back on Earth, it proved impossible for us to leave - the giant eye had closed and we were no longer able to sustain inter-dimensional existence. We knew that the human mind was not capable of holding the information held in the eye of the universe, and several attempts were made to augment our physical forms with electronica to accomodate the data. These, unfortunately, failed, and it soon became clear that we were stuck on Earth. A bit of a shame really, as we had seen a lot of really cool stuff on our travels, but we did manage to contact several fellow maroons, who helped us to rebuild the sonic drive. We documented our experiments throughout, and this space is dedicated to the publication of those experiments, for the furtherment of sonic knowledge. Eventually, once we have figured out a way to transfer the complex data into primitive binary systems, the blog on this site will feature the log of Oberon Six, the biotechnological vessel that enabled us to leave in the first place. We are still here, still trying to find a way back out there...Profile edited with: CricketSoda Myspace Profile Editor

Sounds Like: We were once described by George from Hacksaw as 'a bastard cross between Hawkwind and X-Ray Spex'! You can make your own minds up, but it kinda makes perfect sense to me. And why not? Musique concrete, noisenik/electroclash and punk attitude mix with ambient dub and improv jazz to provide a very different sound. Listening to the live version of 'Old Country' on Rude Blue Live, for example, you are taken directly to Ibiza in 1989, via a squat in 1970s Brixton where Calvert and Brock are doing a benefit for urban demos. Don't bother trying to work it out, cos it won't. Just sit up and pay heed, or lie back and take it all in...
