Brooke Fraser is a New Zealand born and bred singer-songwriter. She currently calls Sydney, Australia, her home.
Brooke's second album ALBERTINE (Columbia SonyBMG) was recorded in Los Angeles in mid 2006 with producer Marshall Altman and a crew of brilliant musicians from the LA scene. It was released in New Zealand on 4 December and it entered the NZ charts at number one. ALBERTINE was certified platinum in the week of its release. 'Deciphering Me' is the first single from the album and we feature the video on this site, 'Shadowfeet' was the follow-up single in NZ, and both reached 1 on the airplay charts. ALBERTINE is currently scheduled for CD release in Australia in April although the quirks of Apple's itunes store mean that it can be bought digitally in both countries as of its NZ release. In fact, last time we looked it was number three on the Australian itunes album download chart. We'll keep you posted on releases outside Australasia as news comes to hand.
Brooke's debut album WHAT TO DO WITH DAYLIGHT (Columbia Records  2004) sold over seven times platinum in NZ as it sailed past 100,000 copies and broke all radio airplay records with four consecutive airplay number ones. This album also picked up a lot of fans in Australia and has travelled to many far-flung corners of the world. 'Better' and 'Arithmetic' are two beautiful songs from the album featured on this site.
