Also, not to be overshadowed, Curtis Peoples , the first artist on my record label, Galt Line Music, has posted the a song from his new self titled album, which will be out late spring of this year. Go check it out on his MySpace page. You will not be disappointed.February 15, 2008

So I’m going to try this blogging thing. I was inspired by my friend Andy, who sings in the band Virginia Coalition. He wrote a great blog about a night in the studio last week with VaCo, Marc Broussard, Elliott Yamin, Josh Hoge, Eric Robinson, and myself.

Also, more than a few of my friends told me my page looks a bit messy. Look for updates.February 02, 2008
My boys in Virginia Coalition posted the new video for their single "Sing Along" from their upcoming album on their page. Here it is. It’s beautiful. I am a bit shocked by how much this video moved me. It’s different, though. Subtle, dark, but hopeful, too.
Let me know what you think. M

Finished the first week of tracking on the Matt Duke record.
Some of the best music I’ve been a part of in a long time. Amazing band on the sessions. Everyone at their best. This
record feels like it’s going to be something special.
Wrapped up production on the new Alexa Wilkinson record today. Don’t know when it’s coming out, but damn, it’s got to find a home. People need to hear this. There’s a song called "Starting With Ships" that is devastating. Breathtaking. Really. The album is a gem. !0 songs. Maybe 35 minutes of music, but every minute worth while.
Watch for this artist. The record will speak to you.

A new year is here. Making a record with a new artist
Although it seems like everywhere I turn someone is predicting the end of the music business, I’m hearing great new music, seeing amazing live shows, and thankfully, getting the chance to work with great artists. If this is the end of the record business, I’m really looking forward to the beginning of whatever’s next. Happy, healthy, and prosperous new year for us all.
2008 is definitely shaping up to be another strong year. Just wrapped up production on the new Alexa Wilkinson record, which should be out before the summer. Alexa is a very talented singer / songwriter, and plays the hell out of the trumpet. She has written some beautiful new songs for this album, and I think this will be a definition point for her. I can’t wait for this work to be heard.
The Curtis Peoples record is being mixed as I type. Curtis is the first artist signed to my label, Galt Line Music. Won’t say much more about it until it’s complete, but this
will be an album worth hearing, that is for sure.
Started pre production this week with an artist named Matt Duke, from Philadelphia. Matt’s new album will be out in late spring on Rykodisc, and this thing is going to be amazing. He’s incredibly talented, and his songs are challenging, and catchy, and heartbreaking, and beautiful.
Starting on January 7, and I cannot wait.
