About Me

Defibulators perform Ol' Winchester in NYC (dir. chase voorhees)
Defibulators perform "Your Hearty Laugh" in an old synagogue... (dir. pat rabdau)
Born out the back of a '77 Dodge Ambulance, the DEFiBULATORs emerged from the thriving country music hotbed of Brooklyn, NY, fusing rockabilly grit, jug band style, and pure honky-tonk harmony. Their shows are irresistibly infectious and rowdy, likened to "watching Hee-Haw on mescaline.", as they wield an arsenal of guitars, banjos, fiddles, and junkyard percussion, with relentless energy. The DEFiBULATORs jumpstart new life into vintage country music, delivering a unique sound that is unmistakably eclectic and electric, deep-fried and downtown. Razor sharp harmonies illuminate songs that are gritty and witty, spinning tales of deception, debauchery, depleted bank accounts, fanaticism, vintage firearms, biological anomalies, airline intoxication, and of course the Apocalypse.
In the Fall of 2006 they produced two tunes for NFL Films (Cherry Lane Publishing) and released their self-titled EP, from which their song THIN AIR will be featured in the upcoming horror film "All The Boys Love Mandy Lane" (Weinstein Co.). Their song "Ol'Winchester' was placed in the 2007 season of the PBS series Roadtrip Nation, and "Get What's Coming" can be heard on the Sin City Social Club compilation series (vol. 9) They are also the house band for and wrote the theme song to "The Rejection Show", now running monthly in NYC. The band has also published their own coloring book.
The Defibulators are anticipating the release of their first full length album, recorded at Clubhouse Studios, produced by John Hill (Santogold) and Terrance Bernardo (Taxi! Taxi!) The yet untitled album will be released this September on City Salvage Records.
