Born 1983 in Wiesbaden/Germany, Christopher started to learn the Piano at the age of 12. In this year, he also wrote his first composition for Piano. Almost 2 years later, he took his first cello lessons, while more and more being influenced by improvisation.
His cello teachers were Martin Geiger, Sabine Krams and Prof. Michael Sanderling. Further influences he got from musicians like Daniel Müller-Schott, Jost H-Hecker (cellist of the “Modern String Quartet”), jazzcellist Stephan Braun, double-bassist Vitold Rek, and jazzviolinist Soeren Leyers. Since 2004 he studies violoncello at the „Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst” in Frankfurt/Main (Germany).
With his cello, Christopher has crossed many different stiles from classic to jazz, and is continuously working on the cellos technical and musically possibilities, a fact, that made him to one of the most intresting cellists of his generation, and that inspired many different composers to write music special for him. Performing these and his own music, he came in contact with many musicians and projects. Some of the specials are the Duo "CELLO MEETS JAZZ" with the guitarist and composer Marek Herz, the Duo with akkordeon virtuoso Veronika Todorova, and the quartet "15 Strings".
Christopher is also working as a teacher (leading his own workshops), and as a professional studio musician. Since November 2006, he lives in Frankfurt/Main (Germany).
