DecktroFunk started not very long ago, late in the summer of 2005, in a barn rave in Wales, in the middle of nowhere (yet somewhere close to Wrexham). Now, when you're trying to slot in some cheeky breakbeats whilst also competing with some of Nottinghams finest up and coming DnB talent in the middle of nowhere somewhere close to Wrexham at 3am in a barn with a PA, and all your friends happen to be full on DnB ravers - it might seem a bit of a challenge. However, we happened to smash it and played out until light...A year or so on and DecktroFunk are growing in confidence. We currently play the second and last Saturday of each month at Wax Bar (Nottingham) and have been guests at other nights as a duo including Pelhams and I-Bar (Nottingham), and solo appearances have included Sumo, TzarBar, The Squid&StarFish, The HoneyClub and the Zap Club (all in Brighton).Live sets tend to be bassline driven, with a bit of funk thrown in for good measure (and of course some live mash-ups that are always a dead cert for getting bums off seats). For the DnB heads we often hook up with our man MC Anger (www.myspace.com/angermc), always ready to spit some sick lyrics...Decktrofunk have over 10years of DJing experience, but are also from good 'musical stock' - with both members knowing how to play various instruments including piano, drums, bass/guitar and even certain woodwind instruments; influences have been taken from all over the shop! Within our personal music collection you'll find favourites from all decades spanning back from the Fifties to the present day, including artists and musicians from many different genres of music (we believe that the best music only comes from understanding more than one genre)
