Slide are a four piece rock band based in the South East of England. Initially formed as a covers act, the band began slipping original songs into their 2 hour pub setlists to test the water. The response was hugely positive with the anthemic 'Living Out Loud' becoming a crowd favourite.
After recording their Better Features E.P. the band attracted interest from several Management Companies. Producer Brian Eno had Better Features recommended to him and although incredibly busy (apparently he was working with some band called U2) he was impressed enough to give pointers on their sound, presentation and the next steps to take.
A few weeks later Slide signed a management deal. Within weeks they were on the bill at the Hope & Anchor in Islington (fittingly the venue for U2's London debut). The following month they were headlining the Water Rats in Kings Cross and the Dublin Castle in Camden. Their own material was multiplying at a rapid rate and by 2005 they were making three headlining appearances at the legendary Marquee Club in Leicester Square.
The songs above provide a decent picture of what Slide are about; radio-friendly, catchy rock with pumping rhythms, virtuoso guitar and hook-filled melodies. Live the band are equally exciting.
