About Me

Saxophonist and P. Mauriat Artist Patrick Trahan has always been a talented and hard working musician, Patrick Has won numerous awards including, Outstanding Soloist awards at :The Temple Jazz Festival, UT Longhorn Jazz Festival, and the St. Mary's Jazz Festival. He has also been a member of the Texas Community College All State Jazz Ensemble and The National Collegiate Honor Band. Patrick Trahan has shared the stage with many talented muscians such as Dave Weckl, Eric Merienthal, The Rodger Duncan Band, Peter Erskine, Henry Brun, The Latin Breed, Ron Wilkins, the late Frank Mantooth, Ruben Ramos, Paulina Reese, Mark Del Castillo (Del Castillo) and Tierra just to name a few. Patrick is also the former saxophone player for three time Grammy Award winning Little Joe y La Familia. Although Patrick is a mainstream saxophonist, he has been classically trained through the graces of Todd Oxford, Jeremy Justeson, and Cynthia Cripps. Patrick was first introduced to jazz by a wonderful saxophonist by the name of Tim Doherty. Tim taught Patrick everything about jazz from changes to trascribing, to transposing on the spot. Patrick's performances have taken him all over the world including Mexico, France, England, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands, Italy, Germany and all over The United States. Patrick Trahan uses SAXRAX saxophone stands and plays P. Mauriat Saxophones Exclusively.

Sounds Like: Classically-Taught by Todd Oxford and Jeremy Justeson both form Harvey Pittel's school. I sound like I've been schooled there.Jazz-Depends on my mood, sometimes I'm straight ahead other times I'm contemporary. Bebop, swing, funk and pop it's all there.
