IT HAS BEEN ONE WHOLE YEAR since LHH Entertainment and La Familia Enterprises joined forces and presented a new look and new sound back for the King himself as he brought back the big brass sound to the onda Tejana and we are looking forward to another eventful year.
LOS HOT HORNS is one of the strongest brass sections in the Tejano genre and is currently on tour with The King of the Brown Sound, Little Joe Y La Familia. The horn section currently consists of two trumpets, but usually carries two more saxes and a trombone player. Los Hot Horns have played with several different groups in Tejano including Xtremo, Puro Tejano Showband, and Grammy Award Winners; Chente Barrera Y Taconazo, and The Legends: Sunny Ozuna, Augustin Ramirez, and Carlos Miranda. This ensemble is quite different because they play with many different groups. They are for hire for many different genres of music including Tejano and Jazz and is also available for recording sessions.
Los Hot Horns is led by John Ontiveros on Lead Trumpet. John has been playing trumpet for 11 years now. He is a Senior at Angelo State University in San Angelo Texas and is a music major, but he is taking a break to enjoy this wonderful opportunity. John also arranges the charts for the horn section. John has played with the likes of Ruben Ramos, Chente Barrera, and Lalo Davila. He also played lead trumpet in several ensembles while he was attending which included the ASU JAZZ BAND and BRASS CHIOR.On second Trumpet is Gracie Acosta. Gracie has been playing for about 9 years. She is a nursing major at Howard College in Big Spring Texas. Gracie and John have been performing with each other for about 6 years. Gracie was lead trumpet for the NightHawk Jazz band at Howard during the 2005 school year. One of LOS HOT HORNS! past members,David Trevino, tenor sax, has made the decision to go back to school and finish up. We wish him well and hope to see him graduate soon some day.LOS HOT HORNS! is an advocate for local horn players from all areas. They have a wide network of collegues which include Mark Lozano from Los Pitos of PTS, trombone player Alex Jimenez and alto sax player Omar Mojica who were original members of LHH.For Contact Information Email us at: [email protected] or [email protected]
