I'm Annelies. I play the hurdy-gurdy (draailier in het Nederlands) for 6 years now. This instrument is sometimes called "the medieval synthesizer". I play European folk tunes, most of them are Flemish or French, traditional or recently written. I perform solo. I'm jamming with other musicians regularly and some time a new band will be born. I contacted someone with a home studio to get some recordings. These will be added later on this profile.
I live in Flanders (yes, like Ned Flanders from "The Simpsons"). This is the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium. I was born on 30 december 1977.
Maybe you may think that the person you see on the picture and my name don't match with each other. Wrong! I'm transgendered. My body is male but my psyche is very female. In fact MySpace should also offer the choice Transgender. Then all crossdressers, transvestites, gender benders, transgenders and transsexuals wouldn't have this choice problem. It hasn't much to do with being gay, to have that clear. (Look on Wikipedia for transgender) If circumstances are suited I dress up in a feminine, folky but decent style.
