Daphna Sadeh

About Me

Daphna Sadeh was born in Israel and she is currently living in the UK. She is a Double Bass player and a composer, leading her group, The Voyagers. Her new CD with the Voyagers, Walking The Thin Line, has been released with 33 Records www.33jazz.com. The idea behind the title of the CD is an expression of the feeling of our lives at this time in the early 21st Century, where, as Daphna observes ”everything can feel more than ever so fragile but at the same time there are so many moments of beauty. The thin line goes in between these extremes.” Daphna Sadeh and The Voyagers produce a distinctive style of music that crosses the boundaries of Mediterranean Sephardic, Arabic with Jewish, Jazz with tradition, and Jewish with Eastern European Ashkenazi. Spice this up with the rhythmic excitement of the Klezmer groove and you'll hear a truly amazing sound. Original compositions from Daphna Sadeh. Daphna performed internationally and recorded with various World Music groups such as East West Ensemble and Eve's Women. She performed in the USA, Asia, Europe and South Africa in different festivals and venues. Her first CD - Out of Border was released in 2002.
