I'm so sick of the club scene... So are baby seals, and you don't hear them complaining...

About Me

I collect antique keys, cameos, albums by bands I like regardless of their worth, comic books, monster toys, religious iconography, and anything having to do with Jabba the Hutt. I'm sort of a geek see, but a gorgeous geek, and that's a fantastic thing. I think life can be and often is extremely beautiful; I think humanity can be and often is worthy of a mass extinction. Then the few of us that were left could form a tribe and caravan to Coney Island and live all Beyond Thunderdome and it would be awesome. Post Apocolipstick.I love art lots, I think it' the only characteristic seperating humanity from animals. As such one might assume I think it's okay to hunt and eat humans and to that person I say this: "Yes. Yes I kind of do." Maybe people with life sentences could compete on a reality TV version of "The Most Dangerous Game", or we could finally implement some of things "A Modest Proposal" was trying to teach us. Anyway, art is beautiful because it is always an artificial representation of something, and I *heart* artifice. Imagination is just another name for dreaming up lies. Beautiful, beautiful lies.I think religion is the source of many of the world's problems, which sucks. There's a lot of pretty, absolutely stunningly beautiful artwork and ritual associated with religion. Had they stayed small pockets of local belief systems they would be more palatable to me spiritually, but then there would be no cathedrals or grand marble statues and that would sooo turn me off aesthetically. I like the art of religion, I don't like how each and every one has turned into some dumbed down version of itself desperately trying to be relevant in a technological, post-spiritual society and clinging to its last suprisingly strong leashes connected to the masses. Basically, it's fun mythology that occasionally teaches a good point but more often than not promotoes centuries old prejudices and irrational superstitious fear of the unknown. Science is a religion.I'll add just about anyone on this thing because I think people are interesting. All kinds of people. And I like having my tentacles in as many different circles, scenes, cliques, and cultures as I can without being noticed too much. Inspiration.

Pretty much I like art with monsters, death, mythological themes, kitsch, lowbrow, and art nouveau. In addition to that, I also like A LOT of other types of art/artists...the ones named above are just the first few to come to mind. UNF!

Heroes:

Tank Girl. My mom. My high school art teacher, Ms. Loeffelholz. Ummm, Oscar Wilde. Leigh Bowery. Richie Rich. Jayne Mansfield. Anyone who's ever helped change my mind for the better about something. Anyone who can put up with me for extended periods of time.

I had to make a CD of aggro-industrial and metal and play it sorta loud to go to sleep.  I've been pissy, pissed-off, and sort of content with feeling angry just 'cos I'm feeling something strong...

I have the back of a 90-year-old-lady today, but this blog's not about that whatsoever.

It's four o' clock in the morning, do you know where your Austin is?  Sitting in pitbull, the morning "ag" report already going on the TV, and all I can think is "do people really still do that?"...
