About Me

Derrex Brady, a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, spent most of his teen years in Orange County, California. He began his career performing in the musical group Project X, which recorded its debut album for Interscope Records. The band's hit single "Everyday Thing" was launched on Power 106, one of Los Angeles' most popular radio stations. A video and a Power 106 High School tour soon followed. Brady got the chance to showcase both his musical and acting talents in the lead role in the independent film "The Others." Brady portrayed an adolescent drummer teetering on the edge of insanity. He then appeared in "Hair Shirt," executive-produced by Neve Campbell; it garnered a great deal of attention on the independent film circuit. Afterward he appeared in a national commercial for Orange Slice and went on to make television appearances on "Popular," "Chicago Hope" and "Roswell." Brady then landed a guest-starring role on the critically acclaimed Lifetime Television show "Any Day Now" (starring Annie Potts and Lorraine Toussaint), playing Ajoni, the boyfriend of Mary Elizabeth's (Potts) daughter, Kelly. Brady's role initially ended after a couple of episodes, when Kelly and Ajoni's relationship broke up. But the executive producers of the series, Nancy Miller and Gary Randall, decided to bring the character back for a pivotal plot twist. Kelly becomes pregnant, and the teen couple decides to get married. Brady, who is also a father, related to his character's worries, responsibilities and joy. Brady also had the opportunity to work with Al Pacino in a small role in the film "Simone." Derrex went on to appear on two of CBS' critically acclaimed shows "The Agency" and playing the Mayor's son who has the disease, schizophrenia on "The District." Following up, Derrex starred on ABC's comedy, "10-8" as well as CBS' long running hit show, Jag. The casting director enjoyed Derrex's character development for his role in the episode and brought him in for a role on NCIS, starring Mark Harmon. Last year, Brady guest stared on Boston Legal, opposite James Spader and was recurring on the long running hit show; Strong Medicine, playing a young intern moving his way up to becoming a doctor. Derrex is now moving behind the camera as well as continuing his path in front of the camera. He's began development on a pilot as well as an independent movie along with Director, Dale S. Lewis of RAGS... The unstoppable Brady shows no signs of slowing down. In addition to raising a family with his beautiful wife and working as an actor, he enjoys writing screenplays and playing basketball. Recognizing GOD is in control and truly being blessed is the inspiration that continues to drive Brady to be grateful, committed and focused. --------------------------------------------------- http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0103610/ ----------------------
