The Brigands

The Brigand brothers started playing the rock and roll in Malden, Mass. in the early eighties. Rusty and Brian teamed up with Bart and brother Chris to form The Bouncers. Their first gig was at Jasper’s in Somerville which began a stretch of shows at Jasper’s, The Jumbo, Storyville, Chet’s Last Call and later The Rathskellar, The Channel and the Paradise. The Bouncers opened at a Jaspers’ homecoming for Robert Ellis show which featured the band playing Sex Pistols covers and stage diving at terribly inappropriate times. Over the years the brothers brigand have suffered 3 chipped teeth, 5 broken noses, a cracked jaw and 4 broken knuckles, mostly at each others hands. The Brigands were formed in the late 90s to bring the music on home to Mama.Dateline January 2007...The Brigands had a teary eyed re-union with the brother they lost on a Spring Trip to Florida 13 years ago. Rusty Brigand has resurfaced and will be joining the band for future gigs. Rusty will be playing south-paw bass with those extremely hairy paws of his. The brothers are ecstatic but also wary of their inclination toward nasty "disagreements". They often spend their entire nights receipts on bar tabs, emergency room fees and sterile gauze. With Rusty back, those ugly incidents are likely to increase in severity. Handsome Bill, Brian and Bart have vowed to stick to the music, but Bunny makes no promises. His mood swings have made it a gamble to stand within arms reach onstage so the brigands have been experimenting with plastic tie wraps and chicken wireAll of this adds up to a live show that will rock your world with the intensity OJ playing the ponies on April 15.
