The band "Monday Meadows" was formed in 2004, by Marianne Degrave, Dieter Verhofstadt and Hans Debucquoy. Thomas Merlier joined the band and the musical direction changed to a combination of folk-rock and Celtic traditionals, coloured with the violins of Sara. Thomas brought Dries with him from another band, Punch, to complete the current line-up on drums.About a third of the repertoire consists of original songs, four of which you can hear on this site. The original repertoire is rapidly expanding, succesfully blending with the covers of John Hiatt, Bob Dylan, The Levellers, The Dubliners et al.
Monday Meadows are based in Ghent, Belgium, where they play the majority of their gigs, while opening their horizons to festivals and club gigs in other cities.
