About Me

I'm the person that people come to when they need to talk. I've found that I can accept just about anyone just the way that they are. I'm a committed Christian with a strong desire to be there for people. I work as a hospital chaplain, and tons of volunteer hats... :) LOL more than I can list. I've worked with just about every group of people you can imagine from the "lower" end of our society to the "upper" level, and love everyone I meet. I also find it difficult to go out in public without meeting someone that I've helped. I never meet a stranger, but sometimes enjoy me time too. I'm right in between, neither introvert or extrovert, but able to be either that the situation might require. Sometimes the life of the party, sometimes the quiet person who you need to talk to and know it's not going any further. I'm a good friend, who prefers to be the nice guy, but can be assertive when necessary. I also have a Master of Divinity and a MA in Christian Education, in addition to the MA in Marriage & Family Counseling. All from NOBTS, and all the coursework for a degree in Communication from Auburn. My Interests

Water activities of any sort... okay leave out drowning and shark attacks ;) Reading, Games, movies at times, computers, the internet (duh), Spiritual Direction, Counseling, Institutional Chaplaincy, volunteer work with those who need help

I'd like to meet:

People for friendship, from casual friendship to a close. I'd like to know just about anyone. I'm open to people with very different beliefs than I have, and don't feel like I need to change their minds... most of the time LOL Okay, all of us have our little soapboxes, but even with that I'll say my piece, but don't feel like I'm responsible for changing someone, or that I should look down on them for different beliefs. I like people who are willing to agree to disagree and like to discuss things. I'd prefer people who don't jump to conclusions, but hey, who doesn't sometimes... ;)

Music:

Christian anything, classical, country, rock, pop, 80's music, singing with a group, playing instruments, jazz, blues, most music, but prefer Christian music to others except instrumental. I like it better if I'm participating

Movies:

Passion of the Christ, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the other Indiana Jones movies, Most Stalone & Swartzenegor movies, The Sound of Music (yes, I understand it was the first movie I sat through paying attention at about 2 years old. Television:

Battlestar Galactica, Gilligan's Island (yes still), Stargate (all of them), Friends, Mash

Books:

The Bible, Louis Lamour books, Spiritual Growth/Discipleship materials, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Church Growth, Mystery, Horror (not!), Spiritual Warfare, many different venues.

Heroes:

Jesus, John Wayne, Billy Graham, Al Jackson, My parents, Augustine, Paul, all the apostles, Christian martyrs, anyone who will stand for what they believe, even if I disagree I respect their honesty...
