I am Father Christmas. I am the Spirit of Christmas. I am the stir in your heart that opens your eyes a little wider to those who need a little help getting in the Christmas spirit or finding hope that is missing in their lives.
In an age where everything is so impersonal with email, cell phones, and chatting, I have to come to ask your help in participating in worldwide project. This holiday season I am asking each person to reach out to the people around them, their families, co-workers, neighbors, people they see at the grocery store or department store and share just ONE RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS.
A RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS does not need to involve money. An act may be :
*Smiling at the elderly woman who lives next door that you try to avoid
*Wrapping up some of your extra Christmas cookies and introducing yourself to the next door neighbor who has lived next to you for years but you have not made an attempt to get to know.
*Sitting with a co-worker at lunch who usually sits alone
*Allow a person in front of you in line at the department store who has children and who looks like they had a hard day.
*Writing an anonymous note to someone who is having a difficult time and offering encouragement.
*Give up the parking space you found close to the door to someone else.
*Drop an extra quarter in the parking meter for someone else.
*Buy a cup of tea, coffee, or hot cocoa for the volunteer sitting in the store vestibule in the cold collecting for the needy.
*The best random acts of kindness are those that are done anonymously.
My goal, as Father Christmas, is to have 25,000 friends on my MySpace by midnight December 24th. Adding you as a friend, you agree to:
