About Me

MyGen Profile Generator Rusty Nail was born in Athens in 1983. He became acquainted with some of the greatest rock and metal bands as a teenager and instantly decided to buy his first guitar. The moment he heard albums such as Ozzy Osbourne’s “Diary Of A Madman”, Judas Priest’s “Painkiller” and Bruce Dickinson’s “Accident Of Birth” he knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. At the age of 17 he played his first concert with a local cover band but it was three years and many attempts later that he formed his current band Acid Baby along with singer George Lancet(now playing with Navin) and bassist Mampre Kasardjian (also playing with Birthmark). The band’s line up was completed with Stefanos Danielides on keyboards(now playing with Navin and Foivos Delivorias) and Anestis Taylorson on drums. Being mostly influenced by guitarists that blend rhythm with lead guitars without overdubs such Paul Gilbert, Randy Rhoads, Dimebag Darrell etc. a one guitar band was the obvious choice for Rusty Nail. By autumn 2003 the band released their first self-financed mini-CD “Greatest Shit”. Although Acid Baby were until then a completely infamous local act, “Greatest Shit” managed to draw the attention of press and audience due to the unusual mix of ’60’s and ‘70’s hard rock with funk, oriental and modern metal elements. Soon the band had to deal with a number of proposals about participating in CD collections such as “Greece Attacks – The Next Assault” (by Sound & Vision), “In The Junkyard” (by Spinalonga Records) and “The Power Of Underground (by Underground Tapes) all released in 2004. By the end of the year Anestis Taylorson left the band and was replaced by Angelo Balioussi(ex-Parthian Shot, Double Square) and Stefanos Danielides left his place as a keyboardist to become Acid Baby’s producer and sound engineer but was not replaced since the band decided to go on as a four-piece. By springtime 2005 Acid Baby released their second mini-CD “Indecent Exposure”. 2 years after their first release the band sounded mature and more experienced. The critics about “Indecent Exposure” were excellent and the response of the audience was impressive. The band blended once again old-fashioned hard rock with modern metal, retaining an experimental mood. Shortly after the release of “Indecent Exposure” the band’s line-up changed once again. George Lancet and Angelo Balioussi left the band in order to go after a different future in music and were replaced by Panagiotis Papageorgiou (also playing with Parthian Shot) and Alex Gavras (ex-Spiraling Entropy). Acid Baby played a great number of concerts in all Athenian rock clubs presenting their new line-up and managed to expand their fan base and spread their name as a special rock band. By the end of the year 2006 Acid Baby felt like Athens alone was not enough for them and decided to tour Greece. During the “Metal-Beer-Go Tour” the band played in 6 cities(Herakleio, Komotini, Thessaloniki, Agrinio, Giannena and Athens). Due to the success of the tour the band is now planning a new tour for January and February 2007 in order to visit more cities, play more concerts and meet more people. Being a band that is always trying to evolve, Acid Baby have decided to take their music one step further. In their forthcoming studio album “The Blind Won’t Mind” the band is experimenting with instruments and elements from traditional and folk Greek music, attempting to bring a different aspect in the area of hard rock and heavy metal.
