Acid Baby

Due To Lack Of Light, Useless Is The Eye...

About Me

Acid Baby were formed in 2001 by guitarist Fotis Vayenas. The bands line-up was gradually completed with vocalist George Stamatis(also Navin), bassist Mampre Kasardjian(also Birthmark), keyboardist Stefanos Danielides(also Navin,Foivos Delivorias) and drummer Anestis Paptopoulos. The first year of their career Acid Baby rehearsed some classic hard rock tunes and gave a small number of concerts but soon started creating and rehearsing material of their own. By autumn 2003 the band released their first self-financed mini-CD Greatest Shit. Although Acid Baby were until then a completely infamous local act, Greatest Shit made a great impression in the underground scene. The unique mix of 60s and 70s hard rock with funk, oriental and modern metal elements resulted to a personal sound that managed to draw the attention of press and audience. The critics published were very good and soon the band had to deal with a number of proposals about participating in CD collections. The collections Greece Attacks The Next Assault (by Sound & Vision), In The Junkyard (by Spinalonga Records) and The Power Of Underground (by Underground Tapes) were released in 2004, making the bands name even bigger in the underground scene. By the end of the year Anestis Taylorson left the band due to personal reasons and was replaced by Vangelis Balioussis(ex-Parthian Shot, Double Square). Stefanos Danielides left the keyboards and became Acid Babys producer and sound engineer but was not replaced since the band decided to go on as a four-piece. By springtime 2005 Acid Baby released their second mini-CD Indecent Exposure. 2 years after their first release the band sounded mature and more experienced. The critics about Indecent Exposure were excellent and the response of the audience was impressive. The band blended once again old-fashioned hard rock with modern metal, retaining an experimental mood. Shortly after the release of Indecent Exposure the bands line-up changed once again. George Lancet and Angelo Balioussi left the band in order to go after a different future and were replaced by Panagiotis Papageorgiou(also Parthian Shot) and Alex Gavras(ex-Spiraling Entropy). Acid Baby played a great number of concerts in all well-known Athenian rock clubs presenting their new line-up and managed to expand their fan base and spread their name as a special rock band. Being a band that is always trying to evolve, Acid Baby have decided to take their music one step further. In their first studio album The Blind Wont Mind the band is experimenting with instruments and elements from traditional Greek music, attempting to bring a different aspect in the area of hard rock and heavy metal.
