Capelle - PLAYING SCALA 11th of JULY!!!

About Me

It’s only been 18 months since Capelle first burst onto the UK music scene at O2 Undiscovered, and a lot has changed.
The 229 Club, 15th of May, we kicked out the jams so god-dam hard on the night that I began to blow my voice on the last song ‘Money’. It didn’t matter though, that anthemic tune had the whole crowd singing the chours “Money, Money, Money Now!”
That night saw smoking hot dance troop ‘Disco Bitches’ lay it down to the last two tracks of the night. Fake money fell from the sky and sweat dripped from punters gone mental. Surges of dark broody lyrics, bloated by electro synthetic textures, gave way to a barrage of solid 60’s rock sounds. This is Capelle. It’s originality at its best. It’s self-produced and selfserving. We understand the music industry is changing all the time. You’ve got to be pioneering and ballsy. We’re always evolving… working towards bringing a bigger and better show to the punters who keep coming back for more. We give our recorded music away for free, but it comes with an emotional price for us. We’re out of towners, brought together by fate and driven by the single-minded need to succeed. It’s a hard slog to get to the top, especially in a foreign setting.
Amongst all the shit, Capelle rides a turbulent wave towards an exciting future. This is inspired music that demands commitment and out of the box thinking. We want you to leave our gigs humming our tunes and wistfully longing for more.
So what’s cookin’ then?
A new line up just over a year ago has made way for our first Album. We took existing tracks that were written and recorded by me at my home studio and tweaked them into the context of our band. The essence was kept, but finessed so production stayed true to what punters were hearing live. We wanted the recordings to be seamless with the live shows.
We set about recording drums in a friend’s home studio and the rest of the instruments were tracked in my sister’s living room. The neighbours complained when the amps were too loud and their babies cried when we stopped playing. It was all mixed and mastered right there in South London. Whilst mixing, I referenced the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Kings of Leon and Audioslave. The industry isn’t very forgiving. We’re competing against the rest of the world because we aspire to be amongst our heroes.
It’s do or die for us. We’re not here to give it a casual shag and fuck off back home. We want a big fuck’n brick house on the hill, 3 ginger kids with freckles, a wife with titties the size of water melons and a games room with a big-ass pool table. As you walk through the front door there’s a comfy family room and on the coffee table is a book entitled ‘How to cut through the bullshit of the music industry’ written by Capelle.”
