Locatie: Former office municipality taxes on Coolsingel 2 in Rotterdams Centre. Directly beside the Hofplein-roundabout at the side of the City hall of Rotterdam.

From 24th of January to the 2nd of February 2008 the sixth edition of the R EJECT film festival takes place and offers again a program with attention for current and creative film.
As well as previous editions Reject screens a broad collection of films where the originality of the filmmaker is central to the festival. Unusual angles, boundless subjects and strongly visions are characteristics of the selection..
Sponsor Groenendijk Foundation makes the Reject award possible, a price of total € 1,000 for most promising filmmaker chosen by the audience..
Beside the screenings a range of music performances and guest programme are presented of curators and similar film festivals, like the Shoot me festival from The Hague..
The festival opens the 24th of January at 20:00 with the film Rock ’n Tokyo from Pamela Valente, Paris. Valente portray Japanese Rock n’Roll bands from the underground scene of Tokyo in her documentary. She shows the love of the Japanese for the Rock Roll which started and exists after the American occupation in the second world war, .
In Dutch première two films are presented of Maciej Majewski and Oscar Langerak. The Polish animator Maciej Majewski screens his Krasicki Reloaded, a interpretation on three Polish fables of Ignacy Krasicki. Filmmaker Oscar Langerak screens his documentary Pre Mortem, a 44 year old poet who recalls his death at the age of three and his tragic life thereafter..
The Belgian filmmaker Andrès Lübbert shows his documentary Search in the silence. During the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet in Chile, 1973, 1.600.000 people had to go into exile. This documentary relates the story of the consequences that exile had to the second generation..
In the art-film programme Jean-Gabriel Periot shows in his film Nijuman no Borei by fotocollages the changes in Hiroshima between 1914-2006. Periot visualize the influences of the atom attack on this city by the Americans in 1945 in an unique and subtle manner. The filmmaker Yoav Cohen from Israel shows in his film Flesh and blood an Israeli butcher who doesn’t sell kosher flesh..
Guest curator Adi Khavous comments the influences of the popular medium of today , video sharing Internet sites in his programme such as YouTube, Google en TV Myspace. He shows the influences, the ups and downs and the future of Web-TV. For the Reject Film Festival he selected the nicest, remarkable and particular video’s which make you laugh, cry or shock..
During the Saturday-nights there will be music performances from bands like Teledubbies, Her Highness en 3-1..

The Teledubbies make dark and organic dubstyle music with many bass, singing saw, deformed jet ears, song and video. In their new show "Kermis in de hel" they search the borders between recovering and abstract. They search in their pictures and music the possibilities of storyline with minimum of information and images. .
Her Highness uses beside her Major Keez, a child swindle keyboard, all kinds of objects as plastic, Chinese toy and screw and crap. Herr Highness perhaps reminds of a mix of Coco Rosie and Bjork but has an absolute autonomous sound and performance. .
The Amsterdam based band 3-1 completes every party with their combination of raw electro, video and live performance. Their music contains a powerful mix of electro, punk, gabber and rock roll; pistol pop or hooligan house called..
The festival restaurant also will be present this year a daily changing vegetarian menu. Daily you can eat between 18:00 and 22:00 hour for 10 euro a 3 course menu with free entry for the film programme. The public can win this year a hotel reservation at the hotel restaurant Bazar in Rotterdam..
