Our Editor in Chief Rose Chamberlain and the team are very excited and proud to introduce you to our magazine and the fantastic content we have put together for The FILMFESTIVAL MAGAZINE Spring '07. We absolutely love our front cover and the fact we are creating space to discuss the future of Stop Frame animation in this issue. Is it a dying art? Our journalist Chris Patmore has been talking to Peter Lord, one of the founders of Aardman Animations and Dave Borthwick from The Bolex Brothers amongst others, to find out. In this issue we also have a fantastic in-depth interview with Bill Mechanic, an ex CEO at Fox, who was responsible for box office hits Titanic, X-Men, Moulin Rouge and Independence Day to name but a few.
We also went to the BAFTA's! Our new Editor Vicki Psarias reports from the red carpet and offers us a genuine inside view to the British Oscars!
Over in Utah, Writer/Producer Rachael Castell went to visit Sundance to see if its all its cracked up to be and gives us the low-down on what it's like to attend one of the most prestigous festivals on the circuit. Here in London, our Sub Editor Georgina Razack talks to three acclaimed industry professionals in the 'Cinema People' section of the magazine.
And there's more!
We have a new Travel Section which explores the cities that host film festivals. Travel tips and insiders info on accommodation and where to dine when you're watching all those indie films can be found here.
We also have a regular Technology Section, where you will find all the latest advancements that are making waves in filmmaking.
Additionally, there is a section devoted exclusively to Short Films and Short Film Festivals.
As always, the magazine is packed with valuable advice and info for filmmakers whether you're a novice or a seasoned pro, including how to get funding for your film and a diary of deadlines for festival submissions.
There's so much good stuff, we don't have enough room to write about it all here!
