Once again I've been tasked with the ever difficult challenge of introducing The "infamous" Red Corn Band. Difficult because there is no where to start. They are men of mystery, enigmas, government cheese wrapped in foil and wrapped again in cardboard. The lead singer, or front man, goes by the title Jonathan Joss (White Mountain Apache Tribe) and poses as an actor by day (voice of John Redcorn on FOX's 'King Of The Hill', 'Almost Heroes', Wovoka in 'Into The West', 'Johnson Family Vacation', 'Christmas in the Clouds') but is known to croon his raspy ill thought into twisted yarns in the hallowed halls of Venice Beach bars by night. In the Southland, so the urban legend goes, to find the piercing wisdom of "The Corn" one must follow the tortured howls of The Santa Monica canines. And then there is the talent, or guitarist; also an actor and stuntman who calls himself Tim Sampson (tribal member - The Creek Nation, apearances include 'Black Cloud', 'Lakota Woman', and 'War Party', member of the Tony Award Winning Cast of Broadway's 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest'). The two combine to form THE REDCORN BAND, an alternative Blues/Spoken Word/ Folk Band who are a NAMMY Nominated powerhouse of acoustic rebellion; a sort of grand symphony that resembles a police line-up. Check out their first CD 'Redcorn Sessions' which professes their love of the anti-song and their ability to re-create L.A. smog in a small Arizona recording studio. Or wait for the new CD, titled 'Still No Good', invading stores in 2007. Love 'em or hate 'em, Beware The Hollywood Indian approaches a venue near you. -Adrian Brown, Red Corn Operative
