NICK JOHNSON & BLUEFINGER

About Me

I got my own Free MySpace Layout from Pyzam.com
BLUEFINGER were formed by four schoolfriends from Liberton High in Edinburgh. Over the last few years they have had many personnel changes, but the creative and driving forces in the band have always remained constant; LAWRIE BALL and NICK JOHNSON.To date they have toured the UK, Germany, Dubai, and are currently based in Barcelona, Spain, while they continue to tour extensively. They have four albums and and two EPs to their credit, the latest being A LITTLE R&B, which was finally completed in November 2006 with a release date of Jan 2007, and a new EP of original material by Nick entitled FRIEND OF MINE is due for release in march 2007. Nick and Lawrie are the main songwriters and have been collaborating since the launch of the band. Their style of songs have changed over the years and the new sound of the band coupled with the new themes of their writing have given it the tag of ´´BARÇABEAT´ DUE MAINLY TO THEIR USE OF LATIN INSTRUMENTATION AND PERCUSSION MIXED WITH A RAW ROCK/ RHYTHM AND BLUES FEEL.´ (The Scotsman). Their new album coincides with a new EP of original material by Nick Johnson, which are featured on this page. ´The sound is huge, the use of latin percussion and rhythm along with Nick´s slide guitar, acoustic guitar and driving lead guitar and powerful drums give the songs an air of danger. In Rock and roll hero, the words speak for themselves´. This from the Irish Independent. Never been one to shirk from the limelight, Nick does, however, let it be known that there is such a thing as self respect in the industry. The band has never let themselves be pushed or moulded in any way. The song is actually about their signing to Capricorn Records of Switzerland and how they were used and abused by the company, resulting in Nick losing his most prized posessions; his songs. This led to a long period of mistrust and disappointment which has gladly now ended. While protecting his privacy like a tiger, Nick does love to play and talk about the band ´til the cows come home. But don´t expect any personal info. What you see is what you get with these guys. No nonsense, sweaty hard rock ´n´ roll. Many reviews over the years in major press and journal, which we won´t bore you with here. Just listen and tell us what YOU think. That´s what is important, after all.
