Nekropolis

Nekropolis was formed near the end of 2003 as a continuation of various projects Marko, Rale and Davor were involved with. At the beginning of 2004, Nemanja joined the band, assuming the vocal duties and the first songs “Necropolis” and “Ice & Her Eyes” were written. These are a unique fusion of death metal brutality, thrash riffs, progressive parts and heavy melodies. The band continued working on writing new songs throughout 2004. The music of Nekropolis can be described as a mixture of Florida and Swedish death metal with quite a bit of heavy influences. Near the end of 2004, the band recorded their first demo containing the songs: “Necropolis”, “Ground Zero” and “Ice & Her Eyes”, in order to get some airplay on local and national radio stations, thereby presenting their music to a wider audience. After appearing on the Demo Express show of the (national) Radio 202, Nekropolis had their first live gig in Belgrade as participants in the Demo Express competition, where they got favorable reviews from the metal audience. In order to expand their set list, the band decided also to play covers of classic Death tracks “Crystal Mountain” and “Philosopher” as well as some Iron Maiden covers. After the demo, the band has written 4 new songs: “Crimson Tears”, “Lunicide”, “Requiem” and “Imitation”. With each new song the band stretches the boundaries of the music they love even further and creates a style that is becoming the “Nekropolis sound”. The band has played many gigs in various clubs where they invariably created an infernal atmosphere with their combination of brutality, technical complexity and excellent stage presence. Fans of almost all metal subgenres can identify with the music of Necropolis, which is slowly becoming a favorite band of the Novi Sad metal scene.

Nekropolis je nastao krajem 2003. godine kao nastavak raznih projekata
u kojima su svirali Marko, Rale i Davor. Pocetkom 2004. im se pridru--uje
Nemanja na vokalima i tada nastaju prve autorske pesme – “Necropolis” i “Ice
& Her Eyes”. Bend u ovoj postavi nastavlja da radi na autorskom
materijalu tokom cele 2004. Muzika koju Nekropolis svira se mo--e
okarakterisati kao me--avina floridskog i --vedskog death metala sa dosta heavy
uticaja. Za potrebe radijske promocije, bend krajem iste godine
snima i svoj prvi demo snimak na kojem su se na--le pesme “Necropolis”,
“Ground Zero” i “Ice & Her Eyes”. Posle gostovanja na Demo Express
emisiji Radija 202, Nekropolis prvi put nastupa u--ivo u Beogradu na
istoimenom takmicenju, gde dobija odlicne kritike metal publike. Da bi popunili
set – listu, odlucuju se da obrade klasike benda Death “ Crystal Mountain”
i “Philosopher”, kao i neke pesme benda Iron Maiden. Iste godine
nastaju pesme “Lunicide”, “Crimson Tears”, “Requiem” i “Imitation”.
Nekropolis svira na mnogim klupskim svirkama gde stvaraju
paklenu atmosferu svojom kombinacijom brutalnosti, tehnicke kompleksnosti
i odlicnog scenskog nastupa. Fanovi svih vrsta metala se
“pronalaze” na svirci Nekropolisa, koji polako postaje omiljeni bend novosadske publike.
U 2005. godini, Nekropolis se prvi put predstavlja u medijima nastupom
na javnom snimanju emisije “DemoNS” TV Panonija.
Kao rezultat ovog koncerta I priznanje za dotada--nji rad, bend dobija priliku
da svira kao predgrupa cuvenom death metal sastavu Vital Remains
na njihovom koncertu u Beogradu. Neposredno pred ovaj
koncert Rale Dubljevic napu--ta bend, tako da je, za tu priliku,
bubnjeve svirao Damir Ad--ic (Psychoparadox, Alogija).
Pocetkom 2006. godine, bendu se pridruzuje Dejan Cetkovic na bubnjevima, a ubrzo potom, i Drasko Pejovic kao drugi gitarista. U ovoj postavi, sredinom 2006 godine, Nekropolis ulazi u studio i zapocinje rad na svom prvom albumu.
