Floatation started 6 years ago by resident djs and promoters Anton Debiage, Fred Lopez and Steve Alexander. Based in Birmingham the night attracts many regulars and clubbers out to enjoy a warm blend of funky, fresh, sophisticated new house music in a real party atmosphere.
So far, our guests have included Recloose, Charles Webster, Crazy P (live), Bougie Soliterre, Shmoov!, DIY, Digs and Whoosh, Simon DK, Radioslave, Secret Sundaze, Dave Angel, Office Gossip (first live show) … plus many local djs from Jigsaw, Bam Bam, Leftfoot, Love The Life, Procreation, BFG, Fluid Groove…
Floatation takes place every month at the Rainbow Bar in Digbeth, Birmingham. We are very excited about this new residency so watch this space and the web site for our next parties, plus hot new mixes and pictures. The Rainbow is a perfect venue for an intimate 'underground' party. Also, a 4am license is being granted so the back room will re-open soon all with a 4KW soundsystem and some heating!
Music wise, expect an explosive blend of retro, future sounds mixing the best elements of Soul, Funk and Disco with the latest House, Nu-Jazz and minimal Techno styles to make you dance your ass off!
