Woland's Apocalypse

_______WOLAND'S APOCALYPSE is powered by extremities of emotions, outbursts of morbid images and convulsive hallucinations; whereas the characters symbolize decaying human morality lurching toward complete annihilation. An atmosphere of darkness and sensation of tormented spirituality prevails. It embraces elements of surrealism and expressionism wrapped in the grotesque. It is driven by existential philosophy and punctuated by deeply psychological Dostoevsky moments. It is a symphony of suffering, a magical trance of schizophrenic emotions. Images are filled with psychological tensions, intensively looking eyes, uneasy situations; a play between two characters, people appearing in unexpected places and moments. During the apocalypse, those who sinned because of their over indulgence, crawl in mud and garbage, devouring and destroying one another. The images change into high contrast black/white. After the apocalypse, everything is devoured by darkness. Everything vanishes, as if it had never existed. The strange moon hangs over the dead world - which sunk into the black abyss. In each gesture is contained a universe of emotions, the silence has a profound meaning and the power of a scream. The gaze and a stare speak the abstract louder than words. All is exaggerated and pushed to the extremes. Each scene, every shot is profound and meaningful - a part of the puzzle. Behaviours are like the dancers of death at Sabbath. Slow motion and fast movements strike unpredictably. It is shocking like the nightmare of the insane. It is the Theatre of Cruelty. And more! Unconformity and rebellion bleed through the film like the truth strived for. It is a battle, all the borders disappear. It asks questions of the most existential importance. It questions normalcy and morality - it throws them off balance and turns them up side down. A constant wondering and seeking, a journey into Hell, into the unknown, into despair and madness. An scape from the world and from humanity. It is a mad laughter, a sarcastic devilish grin, weeping merciless hopeless pain, deepest dismay. It is the Apocalypse. Woland's Apocalypse. For the devil always has the last laugh. The final word belongs to Him, and the annihilated world in its own wretchedness perishes like a bad dream.
