Gjenferdsel

Gjenferdsel plays primitive black metal influenced by the Norwegian BM scene. Mostly, the lyrics` are about our country, and its nature.
2002
The history of Gjenferdsel began back in the summer of 2002, when Iudex decided to start a band playing Black Metal. He came in touch with Iratus, and they met up for a rehearsal. It went fine, and Iratus joined the band as a drummer. After a while they'd completed their first song.
2003
In the summer of 2003, Gjenferdsel had a three-month break because the band didnt have any place to rehearse! During the break, Iudex came up with new material for their concept demo "Det Kom Et Skip Til Björgvin", which was based upon the greatest plague of them all;
The Black Death.
2004
The demo was, after a lot of work, released in April 2004. There was a lot of response to it, both positive and negative, but overall the impressions were good. Especially from outside the Nordic countries, the response was overwhelming.
Not late after the demo being released, Gjenferdsel again started to rehearsal for the upcoming demo. This was planned to be recorded in a studio. The songs were supposed to take Gjenferdsel up to higher levels.
2005
In early 2005, Invictus joined the band as a session/live bassist to make the band ready for live-duties. This changed the band completely. A bit later, Iudex figured out that he needed more movement within the band, and wanted to change the direction a bit. He broke with drummer Iratus. The drums were now handled by Invictus. This advanced the bands musically and the band was more productive than ever. Instead of making the demo, the band was signed on the German label Ketzer Records for a record-deal.
2006
In early 2006, Infestus joined as a session bassist. This step made Gjenferdsel ready for live-duties, but also for the studio session. The upcoming album I was recorded in Space Valley Studio in late March and was released September 22th 2006.
