Well i grew up in the middle of nowhere, somewhere between kortrijk and doornik, where they speak both languages(french and dutch), besides playing soccer and going out ,there was not much to do anything else. At the age of 16 i picked up the bassguitar, i didn't take too long before i was seduced by the possibilities of this instrument and i began to work on it. After two years i deceided to give up my mecanic studies and to go for a musical career. In the beginning i only had the support of my brother, but when years where passing by, i got more and more support by my teachers and other musicians, finally after three years of playing bass i've passed the entry examination at the conservatory of ghent, where i met my guru stefan lievestro.I had the pleasure to be his student for five years and i'm very thankfull for what he's been shearing off all his musical and life knowledge.Since then i began off my own musical career and this has been a new step in my life history. Until now i've been playing with great musicians and bands, such as blunt, frank debruyne, jeroen van herzeele , eduardo vega,hans van oost,servaas steurbaut, peter verdonck,renaud ghilbert, jakob nachtergaele,matthias standaert, marco manzinni, malik, mister dominique vantomme, caroll vanwelden, john snauwaert, jordi geuens ,tim coenen, bjorn verschoore,ket opera,christian mendoza, didier deruytter,barbara dex,eva deroovere,Jo lemaire, Wim opbrouck, karel kai vandecasteele,peter itterbeke,phoenix jazz project(USA),curtis johnson(USA),Tom Glovier(USA), mike sakash(USA), tom mahieu,johan joris and many others, sorry if i didn't list your name here, but i will not forget you. Now i'm currently playing with Blunt, pirana projects,ballbreakers(wallonie), WV (peter verdonck heavy project),fuzz and some new projects.Being a standin basplayer for bands like mucho gusto, the famous disco explosion and many others. Also i'm busy doing productionwork with malik (singer and becoming more and more a studioengineer also) on a project calling "urbanites" ,it's a very groovy project with all kind of good influences in it and you'll be hearing more off it soon, where i also besides bassplaying, do the production toghether with Malik in our own production studio "URBANCENTRAL",and doing that also with other artists and projects.Besides being a bassplayer, i'm also a music teacher at the acadmies of kortrijk, dendermonde and brugge , where i teach jazz and pop music. I also write test reviews for a music magazine called "meet music" and last but not least i also write compositions , witch means i'm also a composer.I wrote a lot off music for different kind a styles of music, but now i started off writing an d recording my own project at home, so the story continues. So as you can see, i know what to do every day.It's now for 2 years i picked up the double bass and learning the basics off drums, piano and guitar. I have a lot off patience and this is a great help in my life.I'm very thankful that i can live with what i like to do in my life and that's because off all the great people i met in my life. More and more i figure out that life is about choices you have to make and until now i think the most choices i took were the good ones.Also thanks to my students who still give me inspiration to proceed on discovering the boundaries of music
