Cédric WATERSCHOOT first took some piano lessons, then developed a passion for the electric bass, an instrument which he plays in several versions, fretted or fretless, 5 to 7 strings, which allows him to take both a role of an accompanyist and of a soloist.
He took lessons with Alexandre FURNELLE and Benoît VANDERSTRAETEN, then joined the Music Conservatory in Brussels to become Michel HATZIGEORGOU ’s student.
In 1995, just a few years after he started his professional career, he wins a Billy Sheehan Scolarship to join the Musician Institute in Los Angeles. There he studies with world renowned musicians such as Alexis Sklarevsky, Steve BAILEY, Carl SCHROEDER, Charlie BANACOS,Gary WILLIS, Stanley CLARKE, , Mike STERN, Scott HENDERSON, etc... He returns to Europe in 1997, where he builds a brilliant career, playing in Europe, the US and Canada.
Urban Trad (104, Kerua, Elem, Erbalunga), Chroma (Radea), KV Express (Luna), Anne Wolf (Amazone), Mirages (Eternité), Ialma , Ida e volta, ... And he is planning to play his basses as much as he can with as many people possible...
In addition to his busy playing schedule, Cédric dedicates lots of his time to music education. He teaches bass guitar and reading at the Jazz Studio in Antwerpen, at the APK (music academy) in Aalst. He might also be available for private tutoring according to schedule. He is also a member of the jury at the Royal Conservatory of Music In Brussels and at the Conservatory of Music In Esch-sur-Alzette (Lux).

Daar studeert hij met wereldberoemde muzikanten als Alexis Sklarevsky, Steve BAILEY, Carl SCHROEDER, Carlie BANACOS, Gary WILLIS, Stanley CLARKE, Mike STERN, Scott HENDERSON,… In 1997 keert hij terug naar Europa waar hem een bloeiende carrière wacht. Hij speelt in Europa, Amerika en Canada.
Hij neemt deel aan verschillende projecten, Urban Trad (104, Kerua, Elem, Erbalunga), Chroma (Radea), KV Express (Luna), Anne Wolf (Amazone), Mirages (Eternité), Ialma , Ida e volta, ...
En hij is van plan om zoveel mogelijk bass te spelen met zoveel mogelijk mensen...
In combinatie met zijn drukke concertagenda, wijdt Cédric veel tijd aan muziekeducatie. Hij geeft les basgitaar en leesklas in de Jazz Studio in Antwerpen, en in de APK (muziekacademie) in Aalst. Hij is ook beschikbaar als privéleraar indien zijn agenda het toelaat. Hij is ook lid van de jury van het Koninklijk Conservatiorium in Brussel en het conservatorium in Esch-sur-Alzette (Lux).
