The band Blunt was born somewhere in 2001, when the members of the band ARTUUR (or the rest off it), where going to another direction with their music. Coming from a average rockband in the middle of West Flanders, they enetered some Folk influences in their music by the hand of singer/violin Rik van de Walle. The other members have followed him in this new direction, and these members are Verstraete Gino on drums, Messely Vincent on guitar and Frank Deleersnijder on bass. And so the folkrockband Blunt was a fact.After a few concerts bassplayer Frank Deleersnijder left the band due to musical reasons. Gino began for a search for a new bassplayer. He came in contact with Yannick yuttenhove. He didn't had the time to join Blunt, but passed some phone numbers and one off the bassplayers that Gino called to was Deldaele stijn. He was still busy with studies on the jazzconservatory of Ghent, but have finished it some two years ago.He joined Blunt imediately after gino called him some five years ago and his jazz/funk influence gave a new spectrum to the music of blunt. He also became one of the composers of Blunt toghether with Rik van de Walle. After they recorded their first Full album "On to the battlefield", a new member joined to the band. It was Peter Boone and added some keys to the band. So the story was complete...for a while. After a year Peter Boone left the band for solo reasons and a new keyboard player was found in Lander Deroo. He was a classmate of Deldaele Stijn /bassplayer of the band at the conservatory and joined the band. His style of playing added something more than just playing some chords and keypads. He started playing the violin melodies unisono or in other voices, witch ask a very technical demanding skill to play this. Togheter they recorded the second full album "People" at max studio's in brughe. Peter itterbeke (ex-channel zero)was engineering the full album and we had nice memories of working with him.Last year, we have released our third album "WHERE MINDS TOUCH" with Dominique Vantomme as musical producer and Peter Itterbeke as studioengineer. The mastering has been done by Karel de backer at his masteringstudio at Zottegem. We are very proud on the result of the album and it has been a new step in the evolution on the new songs that has been recorded. The response on our albam and single "SILVERGIRL" by the press and the radiostations has been very positive for so far. For weeks we are in the playlists and several interviews and shows has been done. Also live we have already promoted the new album on some gigs and festivals and there also the feedback has been great. Thanks to the fans and the people for buying our CD's. There is a new single coming out in february and the result you can hear on our myspacesite, it's called simply the song and has been recorded and produced by Pieter nuyttens. This year is a promising one, we have a few tourdates in Denmark, negociations are busy for the UK and we cannot complain with the gigwork we have already now. The story goes on!
