I promised to Funk! The Whole Funk! Nuthin' butt The Funk!............... I never go back on a promise!
I met the Great Eddie Hazel in 1984, backstage at a P-Funk show, I asked him, "How long you been playin'?", he said, "Not long enough!" His answer blew me away, and I ain't been back since. In these three words he gave me somethin' more than I could have ever asked for. I had been playin' guitar since 1969 and now I had a new sense of awe for the tool, the instrument, the axe, and what "playing" it meant. From his statement I knew more of what HE was communicating thru the notes and the spaces in-between. SOUND IS SIGHT FOR THOSE WHO CAN SEE, and THE EXPRESSION OF THE UNSEEN IS THE ETERNAL FUEL GIVEN TO THOSE WHO DRIVE.
