About Me

Press Reviews of "Unacceptable Vegetable"
"This band is never predictable. You never know what is going to happen next. This makes the music exciting and strange as well. Excellent band."
-Scott Heller May/08
Aural Innovations (USA)
Also on Low Cut (Denmark)
"Insane and satirical- Voluntary Mother Earth manages to combine heavy rock music with crazy lyrics and subject matters on Unacceptable Vegetable in a way that really works."
-Megan Morgan April/08
Independent Clauses (USA)

"Wer auf Zappa steht, sollte sich 'Voluntary Mother Earth' sowieso nicht entgehen lassen. Das sind würdige Erben dieser Art von Musik."
-Roland Leicht May/08
Prog Rock Info (Germany)

(Unacceptable Vegetable is a) "universal story about life told with great rock music and hilarious humour. The fans of Tenacious D or Weird Al Yankovic will love this album because it's original and it has "balls"."
-Adam Brzezinski May/08
Radio SAR (Poland)

"With a greater budget “Voluntary Mother Earth” could make a definitive blow with their next CD, we wait for it with our fingers crossed!"
-Giovanni Carta June/08
Arlequins (Italy)

"I just don't get this album. Maybe my lack of appreciation stems from my lack of a penis."
-Sebastianna March/08
Delusions of Adequacy (USA)

More on their ways!
The True Story behind "Unacceptable Vegetable"
-excerpt
- confessed by a certain member of the band, name not disclosed
1. Give us a Tomato - I had a dream. In this particular dream, I was approached by this person whose name I did not know. Later in the dream I was nearly convinced that a TOMATO is the ultimate solution to all the problems of our society today. When I woke up the next morning, I found on my study desk a song all written out on music paper, treble clefs and all. What you're listening to right now is the outcome of this strange experience of mine. Got a tomato?
3. I said "Just Water, Please" and She Gave me Sprite - This is modern-day blues. I went to a certain chain restaurant and ordered a cup of water. Next thing you know, I got a glass of Sprite instead. What the fuck?
7. Makes Me Wonder - I was meditating one sunny afternoon. All of a sudden, a voice came down from heavens, and my right brain commenced to recite the phrase "It makes me wonder, like Stevie Wonder" many a time. The rest of the song was written in the apartment of the aforementioned Jeremy Thorn his-self. This is a song about the test of love. Some dudes out there proudly say "I'd die for you" to their loved ones. That phrase is over-used and old. Now, are you ready to sell your kidney instead?
-written by a certain member of the band, name undisclosed, sometime in 2008
