MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile GeneratorHello my name is Jimi Hendrix. I was born in Seattle November 27 1942. My parents were Al Hendrix and Lucille Hendrix. My father changed my name from John allen Hendrix to James Marshall Hendrix. My little brother Leon was born in 1948. My other brother Joe Allan hendrix was born in 1949 and my sister, Cathy Ira Hendrix was born in 1950. I was a very poor child growing up, and living with my parents were tough because they always fought. Finally my parents divorced in 1951. When I was younger I was an average student, and I just started to get into music. My father played the saxaphone and I bought my first acoustic guitar from my neighbor for 5 dollars. I was a lefty and the guitar was strung for righty's, so I had to teach myself how to play the guitar left with the guitar strings upside down. The bands/ artists who inspired me were, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Isley Brothers, Arthur Lee, Curtis Knight, etc. My first band was the The Velvetones and I played acoustic guitar. My father bought me an electric guitar and I joined another band called the Rocking Kings, who later evolve into Thomas & The Tomcats. In 1960 I dropped out of high school with a C average. On October 31 I joined the 101st Airbourne Division, where I did parachute training, but i broke my ankle and was sent out. Luckly I met former bass for me Billy Cox in the army. When I get back I join the Isley Brothers Band. I began going on my own playing in many clubs such as Cafe Wah? in New York. When I met Chas Chandler. Chas took me to England and got me a record deal. Along came with me was Noel Redding, and Mitch Mitchel. My band was called The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Our first single was Hey Joe, and then Purple Haze that made it to the top charts. After that abulm we were soaring. We made many more abulms that made top charts, and we were a big hit in London and all through England. I got involved with drugs though and will soon take my life. In 1969 after a while I began another band called Band Of Gypsys. Noel quit so I had Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchel. I played in Woodstock 69 and rocked the place. There were other great bands on there. After a great day with Chas Chandler I go into my hotel with a friend get high and fall asleep. Later that night I choked to death on my own vomit and died September 28 1970, but my music rocks through the hearts still of many people. LONG LIVE ROCK! ..
