About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas€™ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
After 12 years working in the LA recording industry, I figured it was time pack my bags and ship out for something new. I decided to move down to San Diego and discovered a growing music scene down here with tons of great talent. After working freelance at a few different studios around town I ran into avid gear collector/engineer/tech extraordinare, Brian Strate, the current owner of what is Strate Sound. I needed a place to start producing and engineering my own projects and with the live room and great gear that Brian had to offer I quickly set up shop and have been recording here ever since. In the last 2-3 years since we teamed up we've been recording all types of projects, from the top local acts, to independent and major labels. Artists from all over the world have been coming to Strate Sound, we even had a visit from Rolling Stone, Keith Richards, who I'd had spent some time recording during their "Bridges to Babylon" album back in '97. I had previously worked at two of the most successful studios in the world, Ocean Way and Cello for over a decade and when I came here to San Diego I couldn't find anything even comparable, so Strate and I have worked hard to try and bring that quality to Southern Cal. especially when it comes to the artist and the individualized attention that they deserve. Check out www.stratesound.com for more details. Some engineering credits: Elton John, Rolling Stones, Fiona Apple, Fleetwood Mac, Elvis Costello, Weezer... (for more credits visit www.stratesound.com)We have a great sounding customized Neotek Elite 340 console with ProTools HD, an excellent microphone collection, a wide variety of musical instruments, as well as all the other bells and whistles that come with a recording studio.
